Understand.
Conserve.
Inspire.

As an ecologist, my goals are straightforward:

Understand the natural world through the lens of science.
Conserve biodiversity with the help of that scientific knowledge.
Inspire the next generation to do so.

Two Houses of Oikos

A book published by Moon Willow Press

The 21st century represents the Age of the Environment.  For the first time in the planet's history, one species has achieved the might of a geophysical force.

Two Houses of Oikos is a journey through this pivotal age.  It is an exploration of our relationship with science, the environment, economy, and living things.  The book assumes its title from the Greek, oikos, meaning 'house', the linguistic roots of both 'ecology' and 'economy'.  This common etymology underscores the significance of both houses for human well-being, now and into the future.

"From bite-sized appetizers to full meaty entrees, the book is fun and eye-opening."
